We have dropped everything to bring back into use and update an iPad application called myICUvoice that allows ventilated patients to communicate when in intensive care. So apologies to anyone who’s noticed we have been quiet.
This application has been trialed within Addenbrooks hospital ICU with the support of the Addenbrooks Charitable Trust. (ACT)
We are donating our time to develop this, if you want to help please use the following link to donate to Addenbrooks Charitable Trust Included in their fund raising is the purchase of tablets to allow patients to communicate with relatives, relatives to consult with medical staff, and to run myICUvoice.

Save the date! 3rd October for the Technical Artificial Intelligence conference that I am organising together with other members of the Cambridge AI SIG to be held at the University Computer Lab. The conferecne title is: AI: Underlying technologies – how they work and how they are applied.
Detailed agenda to follow, but we plan to show there is more to AI than just Deep Learning, and have speakers giving insight to the engineering challenges of integrating AI. Speakers include:
I am delighted to have joined the Advisory Board for DevicePilot a universal cloud based software service allowing you to easily locate, monitor and manage your connected devices at scale, with proactive management of the entire device lifecycle. I’ll be integrating some of my Cambridge IoT prototype services shortly.
The slides Peter Whale and I jointly authored and presented at the recent CW conference where we provided an icebreaker presentation asking “what is AI” are now online on the CW site.
We are drive testing the Cambridge LoRa network prior to installing an 11th node covering West Cambridge (see post Mandrel Finalist In UK IoT Boost below for background).
Above as a tiny sample of the data we have is a circuit of LoRa coverage Cambridge with the 10 City Centre nodes. We have much coverage data within the City and the radial routes outside the circuit shown above. Mail me if you would like more data.
Delighted that my company, Mandrel Systems, has been selected as one of 10 finalist companies in the Digital Catapult sponsored IoT Boost LPWAN competition and connecting with LoRa to Smart Cambridge
